Hi, I am currently a college student located on the west coast and currently looking into transferring. My school is cutting my program and I plan on going back to the east coast, but not home. I have applied to Florida International University, and plan on applying to Virginia Tech, Old Dominion, and University of Central Florida. My question is does anyone know the criteria for transfer students for FIU?
In HS I had a 2.8 GPA and was a athlete all four years (Football and Baseball) and was in a few clubs and helped kids after school with school work.
I came to college my first year I had above a 2.7 GPA and my first semester of my second year I fell do to a class in which dropped me down to a 2.47-2.5 GPA. This semester my GPA is expecting to rise, because I am studying and working hard.

My question is, would I be accepted into FIU with a GPA that is just about 2.5 or will I be turned down? From what I heard FIU is not a hard school to get into seeing how I have a friend who got in with a 2.7 and had a 2.4 in HS. I am a little bit worried, though I have not had any trouble when it came to apply and getting accepted. Can someone tell me if I have a good chance of getting in, or is it a no go?

I would like a serious response cause this is my future and FIU is some where I want to be. Also does being Hispanic have a role in admission because I am Hispanic. Please let me know what's going on and where do I stand on admissions. Thank you

PS Sorry if I post in the wrong section, I am new to the site and I will learn sooner or later.
