Due to my own indecisiveness and vagabond ways, it appears as though I'm going to be transferring to UT next fall (this will be my third school in two years). Although I am really excited about continuing my studies in Austin's philosophy and government departments, the whole experience of once again attempting to make friends with complete strangers is somewhat disheartening (and a bit depressing). My question is, how difficult is it for transfer students to become involved on campus and make friends. I understand that Austin has hundreds of student organizations that offer the possibility of doing so, but as I'm transferring to Texas as junior, I'm afraid that I'll find most people to have already separated into their own cliques. Also, what dorms seem to have more of a community type feel where students are more likely to interact and not be so impersonal?

your best bet is jester...its the most social dorm on campus. its not very hard to make friends there...i go there a couple of times from dallas and always end up meeting new people and making friends, and im not even in college yet
