Transfer success after only one year?

Hello all,
I searched and searched and all I found were personal experience threads like this, and none of them really helped me. I was wondering if there are any students that have had success transferring into top universities after only one year of CC with great grades?

Most of the thread I saw were for top schools such as the UCs, UVA, and top privates. Those aren't the schools I'm looking at. I'm looking at one school barely outside the top 60 (Rejected here), and one school barely outside the top 90 (I was waitlisted at this one).

Anybody know how CC will effect me as opposed to going to another four year university (I've seen threads like this, but all of the are from "top schools" as well, such as the ivies)

Hey,

I’m kinda having a hard time understanding your question… If you transfer from a CC to a mid-tier school you should be roughly as competitive as others at your school. The most important thing is to utilize every networking opportunity you get and you MUST try to land an internship during the summer before your senior year. Going to a community college won’t hurt you that much, especially if your grades post-transfer are good. If you do that, you should be perfectly fine.

im not entirely sure if i understand your question either but if you’re looking for people who have had success transferring to a top tier school after one year of community college instead of the full two i was just accepted to Boston College as a sophomore from community college in maryland. it is possible, you just need to really study hard, harder than high school, and really get involved in school programs at CC. Even if your grades are not superb it means something to a college that you’ve joined clubs or honor societies and are really putting forth the effort necessary to succeed.

…Not sure if that answers your question at all, but there is hope.
