Transfer Supplemental Materials

Hey everyone. I have already sent in my application, but I was wondering about sending in some extra stuff.

So, I’ve done some undergraduate research, and I have like 30 pages of linguistic analyses or whatever that I could send in. Is that something they would like to see? Or is the fact that I put it in my activities section on the Common App enough?

Also, I may or may not have been inducted into one of my school’s “secret societies”. Should I report that to the school as well? It’s a fairly selective group on campus.

Essentially, I’m not sure what I should or should not report, how many times I should update them, or whether I should update them at all. Ultimately, I feel fine about my app, so I would only update them if it would help me. Thanks for your help!

The admissions staff will not have the time or experience to evaluate your linguistics submission. If they wanted a work sample from everybody they would have included it as part of the application. Can your linguistics professor speak to the caliber of your work in a recommendation?

I would not mention a secret society. First of all, it is supposed to be secret!
