Transfer Texas A&M Confusion

I am currently a Political Science student at Texas Tech University looking to transfer to Texas A&M. I have a 3.6 GPR, so I don't think I will have trouble getting into the college of liberal arts at A&M based on that. My problem comes from the amissions criteria in relevance to the amount of hours you need. For transfer applicants to Texas A&M, the admissions criteria states, "Transfer applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPR on at least 24 graded semester hours of transferable coursework at the time of application to be considered". So, does that mean that I must have 24 hours completed right now, or 24 hours completed after my freshman year? I really wouldn't question how clear this statement is, but in comparison, the University of Texas-Austin states specifically, "To be eligible to apply for transfer admission, you must have graduated from high school or earned a GED and have completed or be currently enrolled in the remaining coursework to earn at least 30 semester hours of transferable credit." It states that you must have a minimum of 30 hours which includes the courses that you are enrolled in, but A&M is not clear on that particular aspect. In that case, I have 16 hours completed so far and will have another 16 hours completed after my spring semester. That is really my only concern with applying to A&M, but hopefully I am reading too much into it.

Thoughts? Feedback?

I researched this topic when I graduated high school because I knew I wanted to transfer to A&M.

A&M: You need to have 24 credits completed before you apply. They might let it slide if they have enough room left in the major but, you wont find out until May when they use your spring grades.

UT: You need to have completed 30 hours by the end of spring for consideration. The advisors told me that you can apply with less than 30 hours but, they won't review your application until the 30 hours are complete. So in that case, you won't hear from them until May.

Get ahold of an advisor for A&M as Im not sure if they will let fewer than 24 hours slide.

dont worry about it for a&m. they take your grades and hours from the fall semester and in april / may they will send you a letter saying that you have initially been denied bc u havent met the criteria for admission bc u havent had enough hours, but once you have completed your spring semester, immediatly send in your grades in to a&m and then they will re-open your file and then yada yada, you should have no problem getting in.

what they said and if and only if they have SPOTS open. it is similiar to you just applying in May
