Transfer to a School Previously Accepted To

Hello,

I applied to Case Western for the fall 2019 semester, and was accepted, however I decided to attend the U of Rochester as they gave me better aid. I’m fairly low income and I thought my family would be fine without me. I’ve reapplied to Case for the spring already with the same application entirely, as their reapplication did not have me submit any extra materials and my essays are just as relevant as they were 5 months ago when I was admitted. I sent an extenuating circumstances letter addressing my father’s heart disease and the inability to pay medical bills without me supporting my parents business as my reason for return. They never asked for my final high school transcript, and that concerns me as I thought they’d need it, but they do have everything else, but that could be because I asked for admission as a first year again since I don’t even have 1 semester at my current school. I’m just so stressed out as my family’s wellbeing is riding on this decision. I know you can’t make guarantees, but can I be fairly sure of my chances, or should I continue to prepare for the worst?

Thanks

I am sorry to hear that your Dad is so sick, and that your family is in such a difficult position.

But there is a logic problem here: you couldn’t afford CW last year, and now your family’s finances are dependent on your coming home to run the family business. How are you going to 1) afford CW and 2) manage a full time student work load at CWU while running that business?
