Transfer to Cornell, Dartmouth, JHU, emory, Washu.st louis Chance me!!!!!!!!!!

Hi guys, I’m a Asian boy attending top ranking scholl in my nation. It would be really helpful if you guys could help me determine if I’m competitive enough for some of the schools I’m considering. Welcome all critics and suggestions
My school well-known for STEM-focused studies and I’m pretty dissatisfied with it and decided to transfer.

ACT: None (nor SAT) but have TOEFL school around 110
GPA: 3.67(I know that my gpa is not that competitive enough, but is it really bad? According to my research, I found average gpa of accpetance of all listed universities are not in big difference, also my strenghths are EC and essays)
School : top 15 Asian Universities / majoring economics
Highschool Gpa: 3.6~7 (top 7~8%) (Top public school in Korea)
Language skills : Including mother tongue language, I can fluently speak 3 languages and one in basic level…

I’ve not requested financial aids.

Main Extracurriculars: Air force Military(for 2 years, played an essential role in collaboration with US army)/ One of multinational company(maybe well known in Europe, contributed to sales increase and company reputation)/ Bank internship (one of top banking in my country), Internship in Law-firm(also multinational company, played as an economic analyst)/ Captain of Soccer club(won in regional soccer competition)/ Mentoring clubs(head director&leader, mentored people in need)/ Mentoring volunteer(about economic issues)/ Member of NGO (aiming to reinforce relationships with Asian Countries, actually held many businesses and quiet infleuntial)

Recommendation : 2 very strong recommendation (from economic and speech professors, in both classes I got A+)
(*some people argue that it would be better to get recommendations more in numbers, is it really true?/ since I though 2 would be enough)

Essay : 9/10 (I explained a definite reason to transfer related to my major and future dream and I showed enthusiasm to be member of the society)

(A few weeks ago I already received matriculation from University of Michigan, ann arbor/ but I wonder if there are any chance for me to get accepted from those listed universities)

Plz chance me. Also comment me if you have similar stats. Advices from those who are previously accepted would be delightful.

Thank you

can’t without ACT or SAT

But cornell, JHU are schools that state sat/act as optional. Since i didnot need sat to get into current school ive never taken it

As long as ACT/SAT are optional for these schools you look like a pretty good candidate. You’ve got what you need for any of these schools but now it’s up to the luck of the draw. Being that these schools are top-notch, they have high retention rates and don’t see many students leave (i.e not many openings). Michigan is a great school too.

Honestly, if you’ve already gotten in to UMich, I fail to see the rationale for wanting to transfer in to most of those schools.

^Prestige hunting perhaps

thxs guys for commenting on my post… Well as @beepybeetle mentioned I cannot deny “prestige hunting” as one of reasons for transfering. However among all, the foremost reason is that I reluctant to attend large sizes of public schools. Undoubtedly, University of michigan is the prestigious school. However, it does not fit to my career in some perspective. Hence, I seriously thinking to attend another school if I could get admission.

So are you going to transfer to UMich and then try to transfer again?

The thing about prestige is that not everyone in the US will think all your targets are more prestigious than UMich. Granted, maybe they all do in Korea.

My advice-if Michigan really accepted you, then take their offer. Be warned that it will be expensive. Also don’t waste your time worrying about the prestige of your schools. Otherwise I would advise you to stay in Korea and apply to grad school in the States.

I hope you don’t take this the wrong way, but your written English from these posts is not that great. It might be better for you to try to improve your writing skills before considering an American education.
