I'm a transfer student with an electrical engineering major. I've got into both schools, I just don't know which one is more fun? or which one has the better education?? I know SJSU might be a worse education but it has ample job opportunities especially for an EE in the heart of silicon valley.

I'm also curious about where a transfer student could live to meet a lot of people at both schools. I've heard it's better to live on campus for Davis? I don't know, help me out everyone!!

What is your major? I think you should decide base on which school offers the best program for your major. As for ranking, obviously Davis is ranked higher and more well known.

SJSU is an urban campus whereas Davis a more rural or suburban campus. Social life I believe is what you make of it, but I think Davis might offer more in terms of clubs and activity since it has a bigger endowment.

I don’t know much about SJSU housing, but for Davis, the housing are quite expensive but they are bigger than normal since the city itself is on a big land. Housing at Davis is spread all over so depending where you live it can take longer to reach some of your classes. Biking is a must in Davis, they actually have stop-lights specifically for bikers.

While they do have some lights that are specifically for bikers, biking is not necessarily a must in Davis. I am currently a UCD student, and I do not own a bike. I like to walk to my classes which can sometimes take up to 20 minutes but it does not bother me. I live on campus but if you would like to live further away there is a bus system. It is free with an undergraduate ID card, and it is a not a typical bus system meaning you do not feel like you need to put sanitizer all over your body when you get off. I use it to get to the grocery store and target. Downtown is filled with fun shops and restaurants. Housing is somewhat expensive but I can imagine a place like SJ would also have a higher price tag. I would say a one bedroom would run somewhere in the $900-$1000 range. The two bedroom I live in is $1250 for the next school year. If there is anything else you are wondering about just let me know!
