never underestimate TAP.. also think about about all the identical applicants they get! ECs factor in!

my counselor said that they TAP certified about 25 people last application period. 22 or so got in. one of them that didnt get in had UNDER A 3.0, so now they only TAP certify people with OVER a 3.0 . this is true for City College of San Francisco

I saw a while ago someone was talking about a UCB TAP and then I saw it on the app. don’t only one or two schools do it and isn’t it really hard to get in. I think you have to be very very low income.
Does anyone know more?

From what I know, UCB doesn't have any TAP program with any CC.

it does, just not very well publicized

UCB doesnt have any TAP.
What it has are bunch of MENTOR programs that just generally give advise to UCB propectives and some summer programs such as the Starting Point Transfer Program and the Transfer Alliance Project. But they are nothing like the Transfer Alliance Program for UCLA.. it's not an honors program that gives your priority consideration...

it's just good for your own good.

ohh okay 78910

I talked to the honors office today at Long Beach City College and they told me that that from what they can remember, everyone who was TAP certified and applied to UCLA, got in. We need a 3.0 gpa minimum to enroll in TAP/Honors program.

I'd put money down that 99% of the people on this thread will get into either UCLA or UCB or both.

1% of me isn't getting in... cry

We'll make sure it's your back hair.

3.4 history major....just to ruin cardinals stats ;)

let me join you, LaxAttack :)

2.9 bizecon major... pre-req course GPA: 3.1
No TAP
No EC
No Award (Except winning a Counter-Strike Championship)

CS championship hahahha.

What cal are you in dhl3?

ha, nice to see dhl3. Where do you see yourself ending up next year assuming you dont get into UCLA?

In-n-out :P

from my knowledge/expirience

First of all it all depends on the major.

GPA. I mean if u're under 2.8 ur chances are extremely low

IGETC/Prereqs. depends on the major. for impacted they say do both. I'd recommend doing at least one for sure.

Essays. I dunno how u write good essay w/ out having EC.

i wonder how much essays count. mine arent very good, but they do tell about me.. just not in a creative way. i pumped them out last minute and 2 of them go over by 20 words and one is 30 words under

I think everybody on these forums agree that the UC personal statements mostly count as a tipping factor if you are a below-average applicant (i.e. if you have a 3.2-3.4 gpa for a major whose average admit is 3.5).
