I am going into my first year of college but am looking to transfer to Uconn as soon as possible. What specifically plays a big role for Spring 2018 applicants. Is it senior year GPA and SAT/ACT, since they don’t know my first semester grades. Just wondering what emphasis I should put where.
When are you applying for the transfer? After your first semester? From where? You should wait at least until you have first semester grades but in general grades from your previous college are what is looked at most closely.
If your high school GPA and SAT scores weren’t great, it is better to wait until Fall 2018 to transfer. If you only wait a semester, your high school stats will still count heavily towards your admission to UConn as a transfer student. The more amount of time that you are out of high school, the less significant those statistics become.
