Transfer to UMich from UChicago?

I need to go into film and I need a back-up plan in case NU chucks me again. What are the specifics that I will need to transfer into the Film Major at UMich and what is the fin.aid like for an in-state transfer? Thanks!

you'd be applying to the college of literature, science, and the arts since that is the school with the film major.

and if you're a resident of michigan, i wouldn't worry too much about financial aid. even 20k a year without aid is a steal i'd say.

I'm getting 20K+ in grant money from UChicago - is UM better?

i would kill to only have to pay 20K at Umich. OOS you get no aid at Umich unless you are a brilliant URM.

thats not true for transfers; i called their finaid office and they said that the scholarships that are offered for URMs are only for freshmans and not transfers :(

Not a URM. I am from Michigan. I do have a low EFC. As a transfer, would I get grant money that meets my need?

no, you would probably get nothing to like maybe 3 thousand in grant money. It says so on their website; they do not meet the full need of transfer students, esp. out of state! so good luck with that...
