Transfer to UVA for this coming fall

I was wondering what my chances might be at getting into UVA as a transfer,
My hs GPA was a 3.6
I’m out of state and currently attend UCONN
I did two abroad community service trips, lots of clubs, and had a job
I’m a freshman and will end the year with 24 credits and what looks like a 3.45 GPA
I participate in a few clubs here and have a leadership position in my sorority
Pleaseee let me know if you think I have a chance or not

Do you have any AP credits - why 24 credits and not 30 you may need to explain that. How was your SAT or ACT scores. Cent hurt to try. You never know what the applicant pool is like Good luck

Why do you want to transfer? With a 3.45 GPA with only 24 credits, it looks like UConn is plenty challenging for you.

I have 3 AP credits (Spanish, Psyc, and History) which aren’t counted in my original statement of credits and I actually was wrong and I will have 27 credits after this semester. My SAT was a 1390. Thanks

My major is not offered at UConn which is why I am transferring. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do but I took a global studies course and loved it so I want to go to UVA for their global development studies major.

Chances are not good out of 1st year transfer. I’m not spewing hate as I’m a pretty optimistic guy, but I’m just telling you this from the stats of the applicants I’ve seen from the last 3-4 years. It seems all the sophomore transfers had 3.8+ GPAs. HS GPA is fine and won’t hold you down, nor will your SAT. Your out of state status and 3.45 GPA with only 24 credits worries me.

OP: You need to visit Virginia’s website to determine whether or not you qualify as a transfer applicant. Typically transfers need 30 semester credit hours. Act now & ask if summer credits will help.

The AP Credits will bring it over 30 but only if the scores are high enough not sure if those classes need 4 or 5 to count.
