Transfer to UW-Madison

Currently I am a freshman student at UW-La Crosse. I am planning on transferring to UW-Madison for the fall of 2014. Last year when I applied to Madison I was only accepted into the connections program. In high school I had a 3.6 cumulative GPA and a 23 on my ACT, having a weak ACT I knew it would be difficult to get into Madison, but I applied anyway. In addition, I was in Soccer for two years (2 varsity letters), Baseball for one year and football one year. I have had a job since freshman year of high school along with many hours of volunteer hours.

Now in college, my GPA is a 3.4, I was in an intramural, and have a letter of recommendation.
Anyone with some knowledge on the transfer rate to Madison for a person in my situation would be helpful!

Thanks!

From previous post, ive read alot about the UW-system and how easy it is to transfer to madison if you follow the transfer guide, uw-colleges to madison. From what I read, 3.4+ gpa is good, but then it comes down to your recommendations and essays you provide.

Wish you the best of luck!
