Transfer: UC to UCB/UCLA after one year?

Thanks for the reply.

So at UCD, you'd need 90 units to transfer?

Well, that's the thing though, how do you tell which class is a pre-req?

orion8: what was your major at ucsc? Also do you think they took a look at your high school gpa? Did you do well in high school?

Im planning to transfer in a year from ucsd to ucb because the major I want to go into at ucsd is impacted (BioE) but not at Berkeley. My major right now is molecular biology, so Ill be applying for a different major. Using my ap credits I can finish 90 units, but I don't think i can finish all my pre-reqs. Will this be a problem for me?

And since my high school gpa wasn't good enough for me to get into Berkeley the first time, I hope it will not count too much against me.

if davis is on the quarter system, then yes. although you technically look at the college you're intending to transfer to. but being that Davis is a UC, you should be good.

lilangl, my major at UCSC was Biochemisty and Molecular Biology. I declared it winter quarter.

You don't report any grades from high school for a transfer application. You do report AP test scores, but other than that and any extracurriculars you feel like putting, they don't really take into account high school.

As long as you didn't bomb any classes. but seeing as you got into ucsd, you shouldn't have a problem.

Prereqs shouldn't be that much of an issue, but try to take as many as possible. i didn't finish all of mine, i still have a year of o chem and physics to take, and i got in. they probabaly want to see the intent to finish, if not actually finishing prereqs.

How do you tell which classes are pre-reqs?

look up the major requirements at the college you want to apply to, and act accordingly.

That's the thing, I can't find those anywhere lol
