How hard is it to transfer into ECU? My S was not accepted as freshman--low SAT scores, F in a math class, but still graduated with a 3.89 from hs. Now in 2nd semester of college, first semester GPA 3.03. Wants very badly to go to ECU. Does he stand a chance? Should he work on community service or anything this summer? ECU site states have to have 30 sh to transfer in, is this hard fast rule or should he go ahead and apply now? Sorry for the many questions, just want to give him best advice. Thanks!

Will he have 30 credit hours at the end of this semester?

he will have to take 9 sh this summer, otherwise we are looking at Spring 2014.

I think you have to have the thirty hours to be considered a college transfer. Otherwise, high school grades/SAT scores still factor into the application.
To get the best advice, you should call the ECU admissions office and explain the situation.
