Right know im a senior at a highschool in connecticut. I'm probably not going to get into the university of florida and had some questions about the transfer. I want to major in accounting what are you supposed to do to transfer into UF. I've read some things about aa programs but dont know what that means. I plan on going to another university public or private in florida or outside and transferring to UF

I posted this in your other thread, but I'll try to answer some more of your questions about the A.A.

An A.A. is an Associate of Arts degree, which is a two-year college degree. I am in high school as well, but I have an A.A. in Pre-Law from taking a bunch of dual enrollment classes at Pensacola Junior College. If you want to transfer in to UF, your best bet is to go to a Florida public community college and get your A.A., and then try to transfer in. I know that going to a community college may not be as prestigious as you would like, but it's your best chance to get into UF as a transfer. If you go to another university, they'll look at your high school record, and it will just be way harder to get in.

AT9, they will only look at your high school record for foreign language purposes, not your GPA.
However, coming from an OOS college, they expect you to have a 3.5 minimum overall GPA.

so what your saying is that the best way to get into UF is to go to a community college and get an aa degree. I dont know about going to a community college. I thought of going to another college in Florida and transfering to UF

It's nearly impossible to transfer into UF from another Florida university. I'm not trying to sound mean, but it's true.

The reason it's so hard to transfer from another university is because UF (and all other public Florida universities) give priority to AA transfers. I know it's not an ideal sounding plan, but it's the most realistic if you're absolutely set on going to UF. If I were you, I would really look into some other colleges that you would like to attend for all of your four years in college. You likely won't get in as a freshman, and it's super hard (for anyone) to get in form a college without an A.A. Right now they are only accepting transfers with 60 or more credits. So don't count on transferring in after one year.

Here is the UF page for transfers: University of Florida - Admissions

Read up!

It's not impossible to transfer from another FLA university, I have friends who have transferred from FSU to UF vice versa, the catch is they hold university kids to much higher and strict standards, I know for me the advisor told me I needed a 3.5 overall gpa and nothing less than a B or W's in all of my major classes to be considered for admissions, thats a pretty high standard if you ask me for someone majoring in biology and the coursework associated with it.
