Um i want to apply to the Rutgers as a transfer student in the fall of 2010. I am currently going to attend Bryant University to study business law Major in accounting minor in legal stuides. First semester of freshman year i am taking mathematics of finance, introduction to business, Intro to liberal arts, introduction to global politics, introductiont to college ( easy class) and micro economics this totals out to 16 credits. I plan on dropping intro to global politics so that i can have 5 classes and study for 4. I'll be under the requirement for Bryant but im more worried about getting good grades. In high school i didn't get good results till senior year because i finally was able to figure out what worked for me and what didn't. Fresh-sophmore year i got overall averages ranged from 85-89 but senior year my averages is 89-95. No one told me what to do since i never had someone to ask. But now i know what works for me. I didn't get good sats either so that might hurt my chances. If i get above a 3.5 gpa in college would BC be a good choice and if so would dropping introduction to global politcs be better for me or worse. Plz help i want a good future

you need to make sure Rutgers will take your courses from Bryant.

Macro and Micro will transfer so will Global Politics (although take Macro first as you kinda use Macro to do Micro). Intro to business will transfer although Mathematics of finance and Intro to liberal arts i dont know.

i would drop the Math as you only need calculus 1 and stat 1 for Rutgers Business.

Um Bryant is making me take these classes will I be able to transfer and what is the gpa that I can transfer to rutgers

stay above 3.5 and you should be fine. transferring has nothing to do with the actual class its just if they dont transfer the credits you’re wasting time and money on classes that wont do you any good at RU

see i didn’t apply to rutgers because i didn’t i think i would get in thats why and bryant was the only good school i got accepted to but the fees are expensive its a private school so i am trying to go to a public school in the northeast. So a 3.5 or more would be considered a safe bet

I would also sign up for email info. etc. at Rutgers to get your name in the system and show your interest now. Call one of the deans is the business department to see if your classes will transfer now so you aren’t wasting time as he said. Keep a course catalog or print out of each class you are taking at Bryant because they often need that to determine how the class will transfer and meet a Rutgers requirement.

it would have made more sense to go to Community for a year, get As and B+ in every class and transfer at the end of your first year…

well its to late for me cuz i payed tution to bryant anyways for the first semester so why not and i cant deal with going to cc. So is it possible even with a not so hot hs record

so if i get above a 3.5 gpa and apply you think i can get in

most likely with an all right/poor grades/sats

yea i dont know exactly but my friend transfered from community with a 3.8 I would say if you could get a 3.7 or higher you should be golden

k i’ll try to aim for that

im going to a private school so would that help

um so i called rutgers and they said that my sats wont matter if i take more than 12 credits. But they said that i would have to spend 1 year at rutgers before i can transfer into the business school depending on the amount of credits i have. The guy i called said that i would be in the college of arts and sciences for 1 year and then i’d be able to transfer to the business field. The gpa to get into the cas he said to aim above a 3.2 or 3.3 can anyone tell me if this is correct not the gpa but everything i just wrote

It’s pretty easy to get into SAS… anything above a 3.0 is enough I think. I got in with a 3.3

can anyone give me the business pre-reqs or the link so that i can try to complete that at bryant.
