transfer 2010

Um i want to apply to the university of delaware as a transfer student in the fall of 2010. I am currently going to attend Bryant University to study business law Major in accounting minor in legal stuides. First semester of freshman year i am taking mathematics of finance, introduction to business, Intro to liberal arts, introduction to global politics, introductiont to college ( easy class) and micro economics this totals out to 16 credits. I plan on dropping intro to global politics so that i can have 5 classes and study for 4. I'll be under the requirement for Bryant but im more worried about getting good grades. In high school i didn't get good results till senior year because i finally was able to figure out what worked for me and what didn't. Fresh-sophmore year i got overall averages ranged from 85-89 but senior year my averages is 89-95. No one told me what to do since i never had someone to ask. But now i know what works for me. I didn't get good sats either so that might hurt my chances. If i get above a 3.5 gpa in college would university of delaware be a good choice and if so would dropping introduction to global politcs be better for me or worse.

I’m currently a Soph. at UD and I would say that a 3.5 in college will get you in here. A 3.5 gpa in college is not equivalent to a 3.5 in high school; it carries much more weight since classes are not weighted equally in college. So I’d say go for it!

what do u mean its not weighted differently

It’s much more difficult to get a 3.5 in college. In high school classes: history, science, math, etc. are all valued at 1 credit a piece; whereas in college, lab science and math classes can count for 4 credits and history/liberal arts classes are 3 credits a pop. Therefore, a B in a 4 credit class carries more weight than a B in a 3 credit class.

the classes im taking in the fall are introduction to business, mathematics of finance, intro to liberal arts, introduction to global politics, microeconomics, and foundations of learning. A total of 16 credits. All of these classes are 3 credits except for ffl because thats 1 credit and its a introduction to college class. A total of 6 classes. Im thinking of dropping intro to global politics so that i can focus on getting a 3.5 or above.

bump…

can somebody help me. See i know i can get good grades but the problem is my hs score and gpa. Should i go to a public school then apply for delaware after my sophmore year at a public school.
