Transfering class of 2008?

i am thinking about transfering next fall as a junionr and have heard the basic georgetown = very preppy. So i wana know what is it like the socailly(i live in montgomery county). what is there to do. are people down to earth or do they think they are god's gift to the world. anywho currently attending a small college (almost like high school all over again) anyone who has been in a smilliar situation did you like georgetown better. please post thanks all!!

i live in MoCo too. As for your questions, Georgetown is a little preppy, there's always an ongoing joke about how preppy it is but it's exaggerated. In my experiences freshman year, there was a very healthy variety of people. You can easily find a group of friends that you enjoy hanging around. I'd probably even say that the majority of people AREN'T preppy it's just that the preps are often the flashiest (pink polos, etc.) so they get talked about the most (usually made fun of :) ). The majority of them are nice people but there definitely are some jerks that have a little bit too much self-confidence. With 1000-1500 people in every class, your bound to find a couple of dbags (true in anyplace in America), but the vast majority really are nice people. Just a note: there are much more preppy girls than there are preppy guys.

As for the social scene, i really don't think you have to worry about that. If you seriously can't find a single thing to do in Georgetown, you really aren't making any sort of effort to do so or your just lazy. There are plenty of parties and nightclubs to go to every weekend but if you're not into that sort of thing, you can always check out a concert at the 9:30 club or something, basketball games in the winter and spring are AWESOME @ MCI Center (even if you don't like sports), millions of restaraunts, movies at ICC (free) or Lowes, etc. There are always people playing basketball/tennis at Yates or on the courts next to the quad, hundreds of student clubs/organizations, etc.

You should have absolutely no problem meeting people and even less of a problem thinking of something to do.

thank you very much i will deffinately look into appyling this coming year sucks that they don't have spring transfers. how is the financail aid...i only pay like 10,000(31,123 actual cost) for my current school this year.
