Hi guys, right now i go to Georgia State Univerisity, which (as i have read) is pretty low in the rankings. I have a 3.8 gpa and am also working for tenet healthcare through the schools clinic and also will be working in a lab soon. I am working on volunteering and shadowing at grady as well. However, there are many things that i dislike about going here, especially the housing expenses (because it is in the city). I aplied to UGA (which has a MUCH higher ranking) for for this coming semester and got in. I am having second thoughts though because i feel like though UGA may be more rigorous/ higher in rank, i wont have the opportunities i have right now. working for tenet, working in a lab, volunteering & shadowinng at a hospital (that is walking distance!) looks to me to be wonderful things that i can put on my med app that could make me a strong competitor. I am not trying to go to Harvard but i do want to get in to an overall "Good" school. But if med schools would rather take a student from UGA that GSU then i would do it. what do you guys think?

Schools outside of Georgia aren't likely to distinguish b/w UGA and GSU. Unless you are unable at your current school (and I don't mean just having to spend a few extra bucks), you probably shouldn't transfer. It's a big hassle and there will be an adjustment period. Meanwhile, it seems like you're pretty successful at your current school.
