I'm a bit confused. Is it basically the same process as the CC's? I'm considering transferring from Riverside to UCLA or Berkeley, do I just do my GE's and try to maintain a high GPA?

I'm majoring in Political Science at Riverside.(If that helps or anything.)

Yeah basically the same process as CC’s. Get your major prereqs done and have a high GPA. I’m also looking to transfer from UCR to Berkeley

No offense dude (OP), but you should enter your school as a freshman assuming you are going to transfer. Anything can happen and no one is safe for a UC-UC transfer. Getting a high GPA isn’t exactly a cakewalk either.

If you really want to transfer, you should probably consider CCC and you practically guarantee yourself a spot wherever.

1) I’m considering it…I never said I disliked my school. In fact I kind of like it.

2)Yeah I know it’s not going to be a cakewalk…but regardless if i’m going to transfer or not I want a high GPA anyways.

3)At this point a CC is only a little bit cheaper than UCR (I got alot of gift aid)…and I rather still go to a 4 year.

If you have all of your pre-reqs and a GPA above 3.3 or so you should get into most of the UCs.

Go to [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) to make sure you’ve done your pre-reqs.

hey,

I just transferred to Berkeley from UCI, so it is possible. I also got into UCLA. Just make sure you do your pre-reqs, get good grades and write good essays that make you stand out from CCC students. It is harder, but it can be done. I think you have an advantage where you can get involved in established clubs at your university so get involved so you can continue to be involved when you transfer. Hope this helps
