Transferring from UCR to UCLA, UCI, UCSD, etc

Hi I am currently a freshman at UCR (majoring in political science) and I wanted to get some more info on how I could transfer to another UC. Well I was originally set on Cal Poly but they rejected my offer of admission last minute because they didn't get my community college transcipt. w-t-f? I tried arguing but that didn't workout. I really wanted to go to UCLA and I thought about going to a local CC (De-anza) but my parents refused to let me go to any CC. They wouldn't let me explain how it's easier to transfer! So now I'm at Riverside and I really want to go to something like UCLA or UCSD next year. From what I've seen, the fall 2006 admitted avg gpa at UCLA is 3.54 for my major. Are there any special conditions pertaining to UC to UC transfers that I should be aware about? Have you heard of anybody that has done so after a year? What are the procedures that one would go about doing this? Thanks!

Anybody? bumpp

A friend of mine transferred to UCLA from UCR as a Biz Econ major, not too sure what his GPA was but I am sure pretty high. You can only transfer into the UC's after having at least 90 quarter units or 60 semester units. It is possible transfer after a year but you must have a lot of credits already done by now if you want to do so. My friend transferred after his sophomore year.

Hmm I thought I've seen somebody say that they transferred to UCSD after a year in UCR. I've also been told that it is possible to transfer after a year...didn't know that you needed 90 units to transfer. are you sure?

possible to transfer after year you just need the 90 units mininum, go check their websites if you aren't sure.

I highly recommend USC. USC accepts sophomore transfers as well, so you could be there next year. I transferred from UCR to 'SC as electrical engineering, and it's been the best few months of my life.

UC Riverside(Princeton Review):
