Transfering from Community College to UC Berkeley for Mathematics:Question about GPA

Hello, so basically I was wondering whether the admissions for UC Berkeley or any of the UC to be honest look at your entire gpa or your transferable UC GPA? This kind of scares me because my gpa right now is a 3.6 (entire GPA) and when I calculated for just UC transferable credits puts me down to a 3.1. I dont apply till fall of 2013 so I still have classes to bump my gpa. My problem was that I am not good in my english, and history courses but I have aced all of my mathematics classes. Will I have a shot at going to UC Berkeley? Thanks in advance

They will only use classes that are transferable as part of your GPA. With a 3.1 GPA I don’t think it will be every likely, but you could still have a shot. As long as you raise your grades over the next few semesters and show an upwards trend.

I know someone that got into Berkeley’s Mathematics Program with a 3.4
