Transfering from LSA to CoE

I'm still a junior in high school and I was wondering about what the requirements were to transfer from LSA to CoE. Is it hard?

You would have to complete a cross-campus transfer application. It’s not too difficult, but it does have some stringent requirements. The application requires that you do about a years worth of classes in LSA while maintaining a certain GPA to be eligible (the GPA requirement depends on the program). You will also need to submit a resume and complete an essay explaining why you want to transfer.

I recommend that you think hard about what college inside U-M interests you most before you apply. Transferring in between them isn’t a bad worst case scenario, but it’s absolutely an extra hastle since you will be required to be completing LSA requirements simultaneously with trying to complete the CoE transfer requirements. The difference in general freshman admission to these colleges is negligible at best, and way overstated for whatever reason. I definitely believe it’s best to just avoid the situation entirely if at all possible.

I agree.

If you want to do engineering, then apply to the College of Engineering if you apply to Michigan.
