Transfering from Rutgers Newark to New Brunswick

My parents want me to attend Rutgers Newark Businesss school instead of going to SAS in New Brunswick, so I was just wondering how hard is it to transfer to New Brunswick Business? Anyone got an idea?

i got an acceptance from newark as well but i want to attend sas. It says you can only do a school to school transfer after two completed semesters but can you do a normal transfer app otherwise? Interested in applying to sas for the spring if i don’t get in now (i am on the waitlist).

Bump from a long time

Part II - Students applying from Rutgers Camden or Rutgers Newark Schools

A Residence:

· Transfer Eligibility: Students applying from Rutgers-Newark and Rutgers- Camden (Newark College of Arts and Sciences, Camden College of Arts and Sciences, and Newark and Camden University Colleges) must have completed at least two semesters, including the current semester, as students in their present school or college at Rutgers University.

· SAS Graduation Residency: Students from Rutgers-Newark and Rutgers- Camden must complete the New Brunswick residency requirement of 30 credits as a matriculated School of Arts and Sciences student prior to graduation (SAS Residency Policy).

Rutgers-Camden or Rutgers-Newark students transferring into the School of Arts and Sciences with greater than 90 credits will be required to complete extra credits for graduation, possibly resulting in additional time and tuition payments, in order to fulfill the 30 credit residency requirement. For this reason, transfer is not recommended for students who will have completed 90 or more credits in their present college by the end of the current semester. Students in this situation seeking transfer must consult with a transfer advisor in the School of Arts and Sciences prior to submitting a school-to-school transfer application.

· Second Degree Candidates: School to School transfer is an option for students seeking their first baccalaureate degree only.

· Disciplinary Status: Students must indicate on their application if they are currently under review for disciplinary action, judicial sanction, or a violation of the academic integrity policy at their present school.

B Grade-Point Average:

· Minimum Cumulative GPA: Students applying from any one of the liberal arts colleges (Camden College of Arts and Sciences, Newark College of Arts and Sciences, or Rutgers or Camden University College) must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.000 at Rutgers University by the end of the spring 2009 semester – no summer 2009 grades will be considered.

· Transcript Review: All previously earned degree credits and grades will be reviewed in compliance with the School of Arts and Sciences academic policies.

Students should be aware that the School of Arts and Sciences may decline credits that were previously approved by their present college and/or adjust pass/no credit and repeated course grades in accordance with SAS policy.

· Missing Grades: Grades of NG, TF, TZ, or INC will be calculated into the cumulative GPA as “F” for the purposes of determining admission. Students are expected to have completed all coursework and be issued final grades by the end of the semester in which they apply.

C Coursework:

· Writing: Students applying from Rutgers-Camden must have completed English Composition I and II (50:350:101 and 50:350: 102) or acceptable equivalent courses with grades of “C” or better.

Students applying from Rutgers-Newark must have completed English Composition I and II (21:355:101 and 21:355:102) OR Expository Writing I and II (21:350:101 and 21:350: 102) or acceptable equivalent courses with grades of “C” or better:

· Mathematics: Students applying from Rutgers-Camden or Rutgers-Newark must have completed at least one Rutgers Mathematics course or have taken the Rutgers Math Placement Exam.

Students who have not yet completed the equivalent or higher of Intermediate Algebra or earned a placement score higher than Intermediate Algebra will be required to take mathematics courses immediately upon transfer into SAS and maintain continued registration in mathematics until successful completion of Intermediate Algebra.

All students are reminded that SAS requires completion of one college-level mathematics course (Pre-calculus or Math for the Liberal Arts) prior to graduation.

· Foreign Language: All students must have completed at least two years of one foreign language in high school (or one year in college), and must provide an official high school (or college) transcript indicating successful completion of this requirement.

Students may not transfer or earn credit for elementary level courses in the foreign language studied in high school. Admitted students will have their credit totals adjusted appropriately.

· Major and Minor declaration: All students must specify a Major and a Minor offered through the School of Arts and Sciences.

Proceed to Part III for information pertaining to all school-to-school transfer applicants.

are you an incoming freshman? If you are, then just make sure you complete the RBS NB prereqs at newark and apply after your third semester. You will need a slightly higher GPA than applicants from new brunswick (~3.6 and up for finance). If you are coming in as a junior from a CC the chances are slim
