Transfering out of Midd

How hard is it to transfer out of Middlebury? This place is not form me.

Didn’t you also post this in the Williams and Amherst forums?

It’s impossible. First of all, they put a chain around your ankles when they think you might consider transferring. If you manage to cut the chains, they have ferocious dogs that guard the perimeter of campus, making any chance of escape futile. If you manage to get past the dogs (which I highly doubt you will), beware of the panthers that roam the hills surrounding Middlebury. If you’ve gotten as far as Shoreham, you’re home free. But be careful–I’m not kidding about those panthers.

Godspeed!

I don’t understand the question. I don’t think it’s ever been asked before.

I’m just saying, Midd was not my first choice (by any means) mostly becuase of its location. The school gave me the most money, thats why I’ve been attending. I don’t appreciate your sarcastic response to a legitimate question. And urban, no I did not post this in the williams page. I’ve made two posts. I was wondering how easy it was to transfer to a comparable (or ivy) level school which would give me more aid. (My elder sibling attends a different but comparable school an receives considerably more aid)

I suggest that you post this question in the transfer forum:

[Transfer Students - College Confidential](Transfer Students - College Confidential Forums)

Just be careful, as my son learned, financial aid is not as forthcoming for transfer students as it is for incoming Freshmen…clearly you can give it a go, and if the money holds you back, then you stay where you are. Transferring is a much different process, but they still want to see what effort you have made where you have been. Good luck in your search for a better place. As I told son number 2, no place is perfect, at least not 100% of the time.

Your problem is that you asked the question the wrong way. You need to ask, “How easy is it to transfer into (pick your college).” And you should probably do that in the forum for the particular school that you are asking about.

Of course it’s easy to transfer out of Middlebury, or any school for that matter- just get accepted somewhere else as a transfer student, and then notify the Middlebury registrar’s office that you are transferring.
