Transfering to Haas School of Business, UCB in the future

<p>I am currently a freshmen at at CC, de anza college and I am taking two summer courses, Basic math which is alg 2, and poli sci 1. I have a B in both my classes right now, where I am pretty much guaranteed a B in both my class. I am planning to transfer to UCB as a business major in the future. I had heard that in order to have a good chance of transferring to UCB you would beed a 4.0 GPA, but I realized I can get a 3.5 GPA within two years. The question is that if I get a good amount of GPA, 3.5+ in my required pre-req classes, but an average gpa in my elective classes with IGETC, Will I have a good chance of transferring? Haas school of business can be very competitive.</p>

Truth: Haas reviews applications from all eligible students regardless of GPA</p>

<p>Were the classes rushed at De anza? ( I also go to De Anza) also, can you compare it to High school?</p>

<p>Based on ur relatively “low” GPA, i think you have a very very slight chance of gettin in… unless you have a fabulous Essay and some exordinary EC.</p>

<p>In past years Haas has only accepted between 6% and 7% of transfer applicants. Even with a 4.0 I would say your chances are limited. You might want to consider a different major. I chose econ and I got into Berkeley with a 3.8 GPA.</p>

<p>In addition to what others have been saying, the fact that you’re earning a B in Alg II doesn’t say a lot for your future grades in Math. Pre-Calculus and Calculus are significant steps up from Alg II so I wouldn’t just assume you can get a 4.0 from now on. </p>

<p>Haas is almost impossible to get into anyway. I would highly recommend a different major.</p>

<p>well this is my only two classes, and the summer quarter is not over yet, I can still get an A in alg II, and I had taken pre calculus in high school and did pretty good, it’s just that I forgot most of the math and did poor on the math placement test since I had not taken math for about a year. I will still strive for that 3.8 GPA minimum.</p>

<p>To livethelimit: Well I am taking a summer quarter and this the pace is a relatively fast. For the fall I am not completely sure yet, but yes it is harder than high school mainly because of the amount of free time you have and thus it can lead to laziness. Most classes are mainly exam based and self studying.</p>
