I'm enrolling at a state school next year and I know it's not the best idea to go in with the intent to transfer, but I really think this is what I'll end up doing. If I get a 3.7+ GPA in college, will I have a decent chance to transfer into schools like GW and Georgetown? The only major flaw in my application is my high school grades. With only one semester of college completed, will admissions officers reviewing my application mostly focus on high school? Thanks. Any advice is appreciated.

I’ve heard they weigh your college transcript and high school transcript about 50/50 if you’re applying for sophomore year. So, long story short, if you had a pretty good high school experience, 3.7 will probably be fine. But if you have a terrible high school record, you’re better off transferring after two years, when they no longer care about what happened in high school.
