Does anyone know if transferring after the first semester is a possibility for freshmen? I know there is a requirement of having ~24 credits in order to transfer, but I have been dual-enrolled for two years now and have obtained 21 credits.

Also, if this is not a possibility, how competitive is it to transfer in the fall instead? If anyone could give me some advices on how to make me a stronger applicant, that would be greatly appreciated!

The problem with transferring after 1 semester is that nothing on your record will have changed by the time applications come around - you won’t have any grades from college, etc. You’ll definitely be stronger applying for fall transfer assuming (1) you get good grades and are involved and (2) you still want to transfer after your first semester is over.

Thanks so much for replying!
Do you have any recommendations for what classes I should take during my freshman year (I’m hoping to get admitted to the School of Engineering and Applied Science)? I saw around college confidential that freshmen normally take 4 classes per semester, do you think it’s attainable to do more?

Check out the transfer admission website. We list exactly what courses and credits you should try to take if you want to transfer. They differ from program to program.
