I am posting because I wanted to know if there are any transfers out there that are interested in going to Medical School after their undergraduate studies? It seems like it would be quite alot if you were at your junior year adjusting to a new place and then on top of that have to start considering applying to medical school? How would you get recommendations because I thought that to get a recommendation to a professional school you would need to have known teachers for a long time? What are your thoughts?

As a side note, my plan for applying to colleges has been basically to apply to all the top 10 schools and then those that give good financial aid (or are affordable) and have a strong liberal arts, research (undergrad) and science departments. Does any one know of any safety schools that aren't as hard to get into but would still have those things, I am just saying that because I shared my list of schools with a friend and she said I had no safety schools. I guess some of the schools I thought were safeties are not really safety schools. Anyway, any thoughts or help would be very much appreciated!

You probably would have to work a little harder than most people if you transfer and then are applying immediately to graduate schools, for the reasons you stated. But I'm sure it's not impossible. As long as you really apply yourself in class, you will still be able to gain the attention of your professors. Being at a small school would help, I imagine.

I am considering transferring and considering applying to law school, but most likely I will be applying to comparative literature doctorate programs. Either way, though, I've been asking the same questions you're asking. In my case, I know that I have extremely interesting research options at my current school, coupled with very strong recommendations. I'd be giving all of that up if I decided to transfer. However, transferring can also open up a lot of doors that you didn't have access to at your first college--you just won't be able to tell ahead of time whether they exist or what they are.

stats=your current school, SATs, GPA, Extracurricular and any other things that you think admissions may consider
current list= a list of schools that you are looking at that we can cut down for you
