Ok I’ve been contacting folks at UVA but I can’t seem to receive a clear response that soothes my anxieties. On the page for McIntire’s Transfer FAQs, it says that the GAA cannot be used if you apply to the College of Arts and Sciences and if you apply to McIntire at the same time. But there are students who do study Economics and Commerce as double majors. However, on the Common App it seems I can only apply to one of the schools. Does this mean I should apply to McIntire but also declare for Econ when I do arrive on campus? Help me!?
Hey, I am also thinking about majoring in Econ and Finance. Transferring for Fall 2019. Do you know if UVA has transfer thing? Also, do you mind sharing your stats?
My Stats:
Out of state school(here GA,AL,FL) Community College- I will be ending with a 3.85-4.0 GPA
ACT: Less than 20 so I am not sending. Also, Do you think I should retake the Act?
Credits: 32
ECS: By the end of the year I will have many volunteer hours, leadership position, won many FBLA events in HS. Also many leaderships in HS, Part of IB Student and many more. @JosDio
Hey, I’m also a Fall 2019 prospective. They don’t have a GAA but obviously try and follow as many of those prerequisites as possible so most likely you’d only need one or two to take in the summer (personally trying to take Intermediate Micro and Stats over the summer so I can have room for that ICE curriculum).
My Stats:
In state Community College - ending with a 3.9-4.0 GPA.
ACT/SAT: I had a 1280 for the SAT. To be honest, I attended an information session and you can take it with a grain of salt because you’ve never met me haha but when I attended they stressed with confidence that the SAT would really be minimal in relevance and they were trying to phase it out, if not by the time we applied. They said “why would we need scores for a standardized test to see how well you’ll do in college when you already have coursework to show as a transfer”
ECS: I have six years of Martial Arts experience and being on teams (my athletic activity), leadership position in FBLA for College level, supervisor in a customer services position at my job, and involved in theatre since HS.
I want to see more about how an accepted transfer’s stats usually look because I want to be more confident.
