I had a 3.8 GPA at a top 10 liberal arts college. I was rejected as a sophomore transfer to Penn (wait listed first), Stanford, Brown (wait listed first), Duke, and Northwestern. If I keep my grades at that level, re-do my essays and create a new application strategy, do I stand a chance as a Junior transfer? Does it look bad to re apply to schools that originally rejected you or do you start with a clean slate again? Is this a lost cause? I realize I had no safeties in that list but I really didn't expect to go 0 for 5 in my attempt to switch schools and now I have no choice but to go back to my original college and either make do with what I have or try again this year. What is everyone's opinion on my situation? Am I at a disadvantage as a rising Junior to transfer and is it bad to reapply to schools that rejected you the first time around?
