I am a psychology major transferring to UCSB this fall. I really want to go into medicine, but I am quite behind and only have general chem and one semester of bio done. I was premed my freshman year, had second thoughts, and now I am returning to this path with a better work ethic and more commitment. I am thinking about being a physician assistant which would eliminate a few of the prereqs. I'm genuinely interested in this profession, but I don't want to sell myself short when I have both opportunities available.

If I switch to biopsych I'll get the premed requirements done, but it might take me three years at UCSB. Or, I can take the pre-physician assistant courses and remain a psychology major to finish in two years and, if I do well and decide on medical school, take the remaining prereqs at the local CC after receiving my bachelors.

What do you guys think? I would appreciate any thoughts/help, thanks!
