So freshman year I went to a small school In the city that was very diverse. At first I had a hard time adjusting to the new environment since I grew up in the suburbs and never spend much time in the city. In my head I wanted to go to a “traditional” college which my old school was not. There weren’t any sport teams and a lot of people commuted. At the time when fall semester started I was in a serious relationship that fell apart spring semester. I wanted to transfer for a bunch of social reasons to try to one up my ex. Immature, I know. But now I’m at my new university and now that I’m taking the time to realize what I want o realized that my old school was actually something I would have enjoyed. I didn’t realize that creativity and art that was always around my old school which Is something I’m very interested in. I also didn’t tale advantage of its close proximity to NYC, a place I want to work or live. I’m in Virginia now In the middle of nowhere and now I’m considering transfer back to my old college. It’ll be closer to home and in state so cheaper, but it isn’t as “top ranked” as the Virginia school. However the close proximity to New York should make up for that. I don’t know what to do.
Check if your old school has a readmission policy that may make it easier for former students to re-enroll than new students to be admitted as transfer students.
