I’m a first year student at Bryan College (Dayton, TN) majoring in theatre. I’m planning on transferring to UTK next year with the same major. Bryan only offers a B.S in theatre and UTK offers a BA. I’m wondering if that would change anything and also, how hard is to transfer to UTK in general?
Transferring to UTK isn’t too difficult in general if your grades are decent, but it can be tough to get into certain competitive majors like architecture, engineering, or nursing. I’m not familiar with the theatre program at UTK so I’m not sure how tough it is to transfer into that program. The following is from that UTK theatre department webpage and looks encouraging:
“There is no audition requirement or portfolio review for acceptance into the BA in Theatre program at UT. The only requirement is acceptance into the University. Once you are accepted, you can declare as a theatre major or minor according to your academic plan.”
Be sure to take a look at the UTK theater major requirements. If those are in line with your interests, I wouldn’t worry about the difference between a B.S. and a B.A.
