transferring colleges after 60 credit hours, unusual?

so like I was wondering, is it unusual for people to transfer colleges after they have more than 60 credit hours?

I have 48 credit hours currently and I am a sophomore in my second semester. The school I want to apply to is UGA and thing is I would need a 3.2 GPA or better to get in if I have under 60 credit hours, a 2.8 or higher if I have over 60. Currently I have a 2.7 GPA as a Chemistry major at a state university in Georgia.

Reason I want to transfer:

Current university is a 4 year commuter school. Lots of 25+ year olds in my classes, I live at home, in the same district as I went to high school in, have tried my best to look for a social scene but there isn't much of it here, and I am miserable here.

Parents want me to transfer and I would like to as well. Is what I am doing very unusual?

I plan on transferring for my final three semesters.

anyone?..

No it’s not unusual…your taking the path many kids do…such as myself. Saves money sure, but the environment u described sounds just like my school…wish I went off to a 4 yr school at the start… not the same experience coming in as a transfer IMO.
