Hello,
out of curiosity, I was just wondering what if you were to transfer to a different college in the last semester before you graduate and just graduate there? Considering both colleges have the same degree program and you’d just be transferring to take your last semester at a college then graduating there. Does it look weird to recruiters in terms of putting it on your resume? Can you just state that you graduated at the said transfer college even though you only went there for one semester just to graduate?
Any input would be of help. Thanks
Most colleges require more than a semester in residence there before granting you a degree. They also may not admit senior level transfers as readily as they may admit junior level transfers. Also, there often is some variation between the courses at the senior level so that they do not match up perfectly (unless you are referring to situations like Florida State and Florida A&M).
I would always ask for a college applicant’s transcript so it would be obvious where you took your classes. It would look weird to me, but if you had a good reason; then I’d be OK with it.
Transferring just to get a different college’s name on the diploma wouldn’t sit well with me. Just would seem like you are trying to be less than honest to me.
Besides, as pointed out by ucbalumnus, it is almost a moot point as most colleges would either not allow you to transfer at that point or require most than just one semester to get the diploma.
