Need to transfer between community colleges

Hey Everyone,

So I have a question regarding transferring between community colleges. I live in NJ and am currently a student at a NJ community college. At the end of this semester I will have 46 credits.. I was planning on taking 4 summer classes and 2 classes this fall to graduate with my AA. But some personal things have come up and I will be relocating to Florida. I have a 3.9 GPA and excellent recs so I feel confident I could transfer to a 4 year university.. but it's past the transfer deadline for many schools and I feel like I am so close to my AA, I would prefer to finish that up and then transfer. However, I'm nervous about my credits transferring. Has anyone had experience with this? I would hate to have to repeat classes at CC and not be able to graduate in December.

Thanks!

Because you will be transfering to a community college in a different state, you need to contact the one you would be most interested in studying at, and find out what you need to do. It probably won’t be possible to graduate in December.

You also need to find out whether or not you will have in-state status for tuition and fees. You might be best off just to take a semester or a year off from school entirely so that your residence status can be straightened out before you start college again. Bummer, I know, but it will save you a boat-load of money if you are studying at public institutions.
