I’m wondering if they mainly look at GPA for applicants from a Community College or do you need to join clubs, do community service and join an Honor’s transfer program to get into a UC, specifically Berkeley?
Are Clubs, honor programs and Community service mainly for scholarships or do you need them to be a competitive applicant?
For UCLA/Cal they are part of the application.
For the low-tier UCs they are for scholarships.
UCLA, Cal, UCI, UCM are the only UCs that read essays for transfers and the latter two do not put any significant weight into them.
If a CC has an honors program TAP agreement with UCLA it can SUBSTANTIALLY increase your chances of being admitted.
