Transferring from a Top School

I am currently a freshman at an elite liberal arts school. However, my time so far has been miserable, and I have done poorly in classes so far. Most of my classes grade deflate and the average grade for many classes is a C+ or B-. Because of this, I will probably have a ~3.0 for my first semester GPA. Due to my lack of happiness and personal family issues, it is necessary that I transfer closer to home for 2nd semester. I am hoping to be accepted to Villanova, as I was accepted in high school and given scholarship money. However, I am unsure of my chances of being accepted. Will Villanova take into account my original school and the difficulty of classes into their admission process? Thanks so much for the help.

Contact Villanova, and ask what you would need to do in order to be considered for admission for second semester. they are the only people who can answer your questions.

Meanwhile, go spend some time with the counselors at the student health center at your current LAC. They have worked with lots of unhappy students with family and personal issues, and will have useful ideas for making the best of the rest of your time there.
