Hey everyone, my friend is currently a sophomore at UC San Diego and wants to transfer to UC Berkeley because of financial reasons: His mom got laid off and needs a lot of help around the house (Bay Area) and his brother needs to go through a fifth year in college, so it'd be extremely difficult for them to afford housing in La Jolla. So my friend is wondering if there's even a chance for him to transfer, and if so, how? He'd like to go into economics or business, something in that area, and has taken a lot of what seems to be equivalent courses. He also has a 3.76 UC GPA. Any input would be very much appreciated.

UC to UC trasnfers are pretty common but the majority of admits come from the social sciences not so sure his chances are great for econ at CAL.

There is a chance. Contact Berkeley.
