I’m about to finish Year 1 Semester 2 of Bachelor of Science in University of Melbourne.
What are my chances of transferring to a decent university in America for commerce/computer science degree?
My average WAM should be in between 70-75 after this semester and
I did A levels in Singapore in which my rank point was 77/90.
(Which is equivalent to ABD/ABC)
I just want to know my chances of getting into a decent University in America and my options available. Also, when does fresh semester start for America University, should I decide to transfer and get in?
If you have the money (and it could be $70,000 per year) there are many universities you could transfer to. Each university system has their own starting date which you can find on their websites, as well as their own entrance requirements. An important item to check out is whether you can get into a business or computer program immediately, or whether you have to have certain grade point average in the prerequisite courses. If your high school education was in Singapore, you may have to take a TOEFL exam as well. (English proficiency.)
The key issue is going to be cost as international transfers don’t get financial aid.
What’s your budget?
$70000 include accommodation and living expenses?
Also i’d appreciate it if you can name some good universities that I can search up. Thank you
Yes, it’d include housing, food, books, and personal expenses.
Many universities are less expensive though.
Possibilities:
Northeastern, GMU, UWisconsin, UMN Twin Cities, UMass Amherst, SJSU, Pitt, American*.
If you want a more personalized education there are undergraduate-focused universities called LACs.
*Easier to get into than the others
Thank you so much I’ll check them out
