I’m currently a freshman at Binghamton university but I’m considering transferring. I am considering applying to Columbia, Barnard, Yale, and Dartmouth. I know Yale, Columbia, and Dartmouth are far reaches and Barnard is quite a reach too, however, I’d still be interested in what my chances are of getting in.
I had at 3.7 GPA in high school with many extracurriculars: Student government, SLT (school leadership team), borough of Manhattan community council, etc
This past semester I got a 3.8 GPA, but don’t have any extracurriculars.
I know my stats aren’t amazing so I just want to see if it’s worth applying to these schools because I really love these schools.
Hey, I think you posted in the wrong forum! That may be why you haven’t received any responses.
This is a Tulane Forum btw. Also I would scratch the Ivys off your list they have very low transfer admit rates (except for Cornell). Barnard and Cornell would be high reaches for you but anything is possible work really hard on your essay and with some luck you might get in.
These universities take very few students,
because so few transfer or drop out so they’re already at capacity - typically the few admitted are superstars on their own campus AND they have z good reason as to why they want to transfer (not just that they love the transfer college). So, 3.8/no leadership/no research is not going to cut it.
I’d you truly dislike Bong, see if you can transfer to another SUNY, or perhaps St Lawrence, Skidmore, etc.
