Hi! I am a freshman in the College of Arts and Sciences who is thinking about transferring to Engineering. Does anybody know how difficult it is to do so?

Thank you!

Thank you!

Internal transfers are not difficult to do at all.

Meet with CAS’s advising office (I believe is in Goldwin Smith), or visit these two webpages:

@jsim0808 Thank you for answering my question! Do you perhaps know the recommended GPA Engineering would like to see? I’m taking all engineering classes right now, and am worried that I may not be able to attain A’s in all of them.

As long as you aren’t doing poorly, they should let you transfer pretty painlessly.

@ mikeyc765 Thank you as well for answering my question! Could you expand on what you mean by “doing poorly”? Would that mean a C+ and below?

Probably…

HaHa, well I guess I just have to do more research on it and talk to the Transfer Office. But can anyone share any anecdotes about themselves or someone they know who’ve actually transferred from CAS to Engineering? If someone could be so kind as to share what they know about the process (i.e. when most people would transfer, rough estimate on the number of people who are actually admitted), it would really help me prepare before diving straight in.

Thank you very much!
