So basically, I've had a sub par high school career. I have a good SAT score (>2000) but a high school GPA around 88 of 100. My plan is to get my act together by going to a CC for two years, and then transferring to a top university.

Is it possible to transfer from CC to top universities such as

Stanford
Davidson
Cal
UNC
Georgetown
Ivy league schools

And if it's possible, what would I need on my transcript? Difficult classes, 4.0, I'm looking to see how plausible this is.

Thanks

Stanford and most ivy leagues (except maybe Brown if you are not need-aware, and cornell/penn) are practically impossible to transfer too. UC-B is also difficult unless you go to school in Cali. Davidson, Georgetown, and UNC are more reasonable. You could get into UNC with maybe a 3.7+, Georgetown about the same.

Yes, it is possible, but the chances are slim to none, don’t be fooled by all those success stories, as they all have some thing behind it. You need really good luck to be successful other than hard classes and 4.0 gpa, if you are unhooked. I’d say success rate is less than 2%.

You will have a better chance if you go to a community college, do well there, transfer to a state school, do well there as well, then apply for a real presteige graduate school after working in a good job for a while upon UG graduation.

If you live in California, you can get into UCLA, Cal, and UCSD fairly easily. Stanford is next to impossible.
