Transferring from Cornell to Columbia

I just started as a freshman at Cornell University in the College of Arts and Sciences and would like to transfer to Columbia. I was rejected when I applied for freshman admissions, but I was accepted into a very prestigious scholarship program at Cornell (less than 2% of students receive it) and I think that with another year I may have a shot at getting in.

SAT- 2320
AP: 5 bio, 5 macro econ, 4 Physics C Mechanics, 4 AP Calc AB, 4 AP Euro History, 4 AP English Lang, 4 AP US History
High School GPA: 4.35
High School class Rank: 15/505
Let’s assume a 4.0 at Cornell (because I kind of need it) on track to double major in economics and political science

Is there anybody who knows of any successful transfers to Columbia? Is it strange to want to transfer out of an Ivy into another one? I really dislike the social scene at Cornell and I’ve been to Columbia a few times and enjoy it much more- the people seem to be much more serious about academics. And being in New York City and not the middle of nowhere is a huge factor as well. Columbia is also better with financial aid and my parents and I are struggling to handle Cornell’s expected contribution. Thank you!

Anyone?

If you can get a 4.0, or even a 3.9 at Cornell in a special program theres a pretty good chance that transferring to Columbia would not be that difficult. Thats just my opinion though.
