Hello, I just got my associates degree for transfer in communications at grossmont college. I got accepted into SFSU, SDSU, CSUSM, Cal Poly Pomona, and USD. I accepted admission at SFSU. Because of COVID-19, fall 2021 semester is mostly online and all of my classes are online and asynchronous. Due to personal issues I am unable to move to San Francisco for spring now so I must transfer to another CSU campus after fall semester.I know CSUSM allows you to apply for spring admission. I will still be living in san diego so my options are SDSU and CSUSM. I know I have to reapply but I am confused about the process and if my AA-T will still be valid and if I will be able to get in to these schools again. Counselors at SFSU told me they cannot help me and I feel really overwhelmed and stressed out about what to do next and if the classes I will be taking at SFSU will be transferable for the next CSU I switch to. I also am wondering if it is even worth it to do this online semester at SFSU for fall 2021.
If you did one semester at SFSU, then you lose the local CC priority admission for SDSU so are there any courses you can take at Grossmont for Fall semester and then apply to SDSU and CSUSM for Spring?
Not sure how long your AA-T would be valid but if you start at a 4 year CSU then it might not be valid when you transfer in the Spring. I would contact SDSU and CSUSM and ask your question.
since I have already completed 70 units at grossmont, grossmont will not allow me to take more courses without an appeal. I also don’t know which classes I would take.
Since I updated my answer after you submitted your reply, I would contact SDSU and CSUSM and ask them your question. You could always take a Gap Semester and then apply. I think that taking a semester at SFSU will invalidate the AA-T for transfer to these 2 CSU’s but again I would contact the schools directly to get the most up to date answer.
thank you so much! i will be contacting the schools
heard back from SDSU and CSUSM and was assured my associate degree for transfer would still be valid and I would not lose priority admission
