Transferring from Geneseo to Stony Brook

I am currently going into my second semester at Geneseo, but I want to apply to Stony Brook for my sophomore year. I have 12 credits from last semester, with a 3.58 GPA, and I’ll have 24 at the end of this coming semester. I know I need 24 completed credits, or so I think. However, I took AP classes in high school, most which I bought from Mercy College, and all of my credits transferred over to Geneseo. With these credits, I have 27 credits completed. However, 6 of them were from an AP test, so I’m not sure if they will still work. Should I wait to transfer another semester, which I really don’t want to do, or just try for now? Will I get in to Stony Brook if I try to transfer now?

Also, if I do have to send my high transcripts in again, should I retake the SAT? I applied to Stony Brook before and got waitlisted with a 1740, I’m also an English major @sbuadmissions

It sounds like you’d be in a pretty good spot; worst case, we’d need to wait for your spring grades.
