I'm currently going to Georgetown but I'm originally from southern California. I really miss home and although I have put myself out there in college, I just want to be closer to home. I've heard USC's business program is just as good and I was wondering if I should transfer.

Is transferring schools worth it?
Is the process hard?
If I don't get in to USC will I be looked down on by Georgetown staff?
Does coming from a reputable school help my chances?

Honestly I would say go for it. I’m in a similar situation; grew up in Texas/California and currently attend GW. I realize it wasn’t a good fit and I’m trying to salvage what remains of my college experience. To me, it comes down to being somewhere that inspires you to succeed; it sounds like USC might be that place for you. USC has a fantastic business program, I have a close friend that transferred into it and never looked back. Coming from a reputable school definitely helps, but a good GPA is still expected. I say give it a shot! You don’t want to look back and wonder what could have been and I highly doubt the Georgetown staff will care (or even necessarily know) that you got rejected if that does end up being the case. Good luck!
