Hi all,
I always believed I would go into business and eventually move on to Wall Street. But, after spending a semester at ND, and witnessing society's great troubles in the lower class, I'm contemplating a transfer decision to an Ivy or G'town's SFS. I was wondering what the chances were based on my stats... I'll try to keep it short

Bios: Notre Dame, M, Freshman
GPA: Currently 3.92, probably 3.9-4.0 at the end of 2nd semester, 28 credits
HS: 3.83, top 10%
Lots of ECCs in HS, leader of 6 clubs + VP of school
Lots of Volunteering/ Service at ND, currently working on research proposal bent on finding solutions to decrease poverty in Seoul, South Korea

Possible transfer areas: Dartmouth, Penn, Brown, G'town SFS

What do you guys think? Any advice would be appreciated, and you can be as harsh as possible haha as long as the opinions are fair. I just want a realistic picture on my chances. Thanks

What do you mean, “witnessing society’s great troubles in the lower class?” I am certain that there are many volunteer opportunities at ND - as you are one now!

Before considering a transfer, I recommend that you ask yourself this: If you dislike ND so much, then would transferring to a lower-ranked school be permissible? It seems that your choice of schools (Ivies/Georgetown) indicate that you while you want something more upscale, you are not willing to transfer to a less prestigious school, even at the cost of staying at ND.

Consider transferring carefully - it’s really not worth it if you don’t dislike your current school that much.

Anyways, good luck. A transfer into any of the schools that you have mentioned is exceedingly difficult, if not impossible.

If you can keep your gtades up and write solid essays, I think you’d have a decent shot. Definitely apply but you should also throw in some safeties because all of those schools are very selective. Best of luck
